HEAD-ON COLLISION

ACCIDENT NEAR SNAKE HILL MATAMATA MORORIST INJURED Lacerations on the face which necessitated his removal to hospital were received by Mr Alexander Downie, of Matamata, when his motor-car came into head-on collision with another driven by Mr Kenneth George Buchanan, of Woodlands 'road, Waihi, on the main Waihi-Pae-roa road, just above Snake Hill, shortly before 7 o’clock on Sunday evening last, during a heavy thunderstorm. Mr Downie was on his way to Waihi Beach and Mr Buchanan, who had with him his wife and two children, was driving to Paeroa. Mrs Buchanan suffered from shock and bruises, while the injured man was taken to Waihi hospital in the citizens’ ambulance. Both cars were badly damaged. Mr Downie, who was nt severely hurt, was discharged' from hospital on Monday.
