80TH. BIRTHDAY
MRS LYON OF WHITIANGA FINE LADY CONGRATULATED On Saturday last Mrs Lyon of Whitianga celebrated her 80th. birthday. Friends gathered at her home and expressed their good wishes to this fine old lady. They enjoyed a dainty afternoon tea served by Miss Edith Lyon. Mrs Lyon occasionally attends the Women’s Institute where she was once a very active member.
78TH. BIRTHDAY MRS THOM HONOURED Another happy afternoon was one spent at Mrs Thom’s home, when her friends met to wish her every good wish on her 78th. birthday. Mrs Thom is a popular member of the Mercury 'Bay Women’s Institute. A lovely afternoon tea was served by Mrs Thom’s daughter.
