ABOVE AVERAGE
RAINFALL FOR FEBRUARY 5.45 INCHES FOR MONTH RAIN FELL ON 15 DAYS The rainfall recorded in Paeroa last month, a total of 5.45 inches, was nearly double the average for February, which, taken over the last 30 years, is only 3.56 inches. The total rainfall for the year to date is 6.67 inches compared with the average taken over the last 30 years, 7.37 in. Rain fell on 15 days during February, the heaviest being on February 12 and 20 when 1.33 inches and 1.86 inches respectively were recorded. Sunshine was recorded on 10' days, the reading being taken at 9 a.m. each day. Wind reached gale force on February 21 following heavy rain with humid conditions. Barometric pressure showed little fluctuation, the lowest recording being 29.50 on February 5 while the highest was registered at 30.01 inches on February 18. There was considerable variation in readings from the thermometer, the highest (being 71 degrees on February 3, 20 and 22 while the lowest, 58 degrees was recorded on February 8 and 16.
