MRS CROSS HONOURED

NETHERTON W.W.S.A. FUNCTION VERY PLEASANT AFTERNOON Members of the Nether ton W.W.S.A. met in the Netherton Hall to honour Mrs F. Cross (nee Miss Amy Hill), who has (been a very energetic member. The hall was tastefully decorated with tables and bowls of zinnias. Two competitions were held, Mrs Firth and Mrs J. Gordon were the respective winners. After a dainty afternoon tea Mrs J. A. Reid spoke in feeling terms of Mrs Cross leaving the district and of the splendid career of her husband and presented her with a floral V and the usual card presented to departing members. Mrs Hill was presented 1 with a sheaf of lilies. Both the bouquets were made by Mi’s 'Gordon. Mrs Cross suitably, replied after which a very pleasant afternoon was brought to a close.
