GOOD ACTION

“ THUNDERING HOOFS ” PROGRAMME AT REGENT SPARKLING COMEDY-DRAMA “Thundering Hoofs,” starring Tim Holt, Luana .'Walters, Ray Whitney and’ his Six-bar Cowboys, will show Thursday and Friday at the Regent Theatre. A hurricane on horseback. It’s excitement on a rising crescendo of action, fire, guns and fist fights, and daring horsemanship. Orders are: “The mail must get through.” It does —and how! Sparkling comedy-drama, flavoured bountifully with vocal and instrumental music, is pledged by Universal in the coming presentation of “When Johnny Comes Marching Home” which will also show at the Regent Theatre Thursday and Friday. Heralded as gay, topical entertainment, the starry cast of the film is headlined by Allan Jones, Jane Frazee, Gloria Jean, Donald O’Connor, Peggy Ryan and thev Four .Step Brothers. Starred likewise is the celebrated Spitalny and his Hour of Charm AH Girl Orchestra, musical sensation of stage and radio. The orchestra, which presents a variety of novel specialties, also provides accompaniment and rhythmic background for the action of the picture’s story. “When Johnny Comes Marching Home” is the very up-to-date story of a soldier who returns home on furloygh andi finds himself the object of all sorts of attention. Seeking seclusion, he is mistakenly believed to be a deserter. This error provides the dramatic impetus which speeds the plot along a surprising musical path to what is described as a grand and happy finale. A dozen harmonious numbers are included in the film’s score which features “Red Sarafln” and “Jaz2 Etude” presented by the Spitalny Orchestra.

FINALLY TO-NIGHT DOUBLE FEATURE “Blues In The Night” and leen” will show finally to-night at the Regent Theatre.
