QUALITY OF RUBBER

MATTER BEING INVESTIGATED FARMERS’ UNION PROTEST Some months ago the Northern Thames Sub-Provincial Executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union protested to the Department of Agriculture regarding the quality of the present "milking' inflations. The consensus of opinion of users was that the inflations are too light, it being stated that the inflations frequently slipped and gave trouble. Some, it was said, had to be discarded almost at once. At Tuesday’s meeting- of the executive a letter was received from the department stating that a sample of the rubberware complained of had been secured from the Dargaville district and forwarded to Wallaceville for examination. Mr A. J. Campbell (Waihi) stated that it was not the quality of the rubber that was at fault but the inflation was too thin.
