TURUA PARENTS MEET
CO-OPERATION WITH SCHOOL TEACHER-PARENT ASSOCIATION On Monday evening some 49 parents attended a meeting at the Turua School to consider the matter of forming a Teacher-Parent Association. The headmaster, Mr Strong, explained the functions and objects of such an association which is a recent American innovation and had proved successful in promoting a greatlydesired co-operation between parents and teachers for the ’benefit of the children. Parents would be able to assist the school committee and teachers by way of recommendations and it would enable all interested to have a share in the government of the school. The idea was taken up with enthusiasm and the meeting elected Mr V. J. 'Dally as chairman and Mr A. G. Williams as secretary, and l it was decided to hold meetings at regular intervals.
