DIVISION ENTERTAIN S DAY AT HUIRAU ROAD VERY ENJOYABLE FUNCTION The Huirau road branch of the Women’s -Division of the -Farmers’ ’Union held their -picnic at Mr H. Baker’s property, (Gumtown road, on Saturday, February 26. About 30 children were -present with their parents and everyone had a very enjoyable time. The prize money had been donated: by the husbands of the members of the division and Mr and Mrs Bint donated prizes for married men’s and -women’s races. The results of races held were: — Married women’s race.—-Mrs V. Dally 1, Mrs R. Baker 2. Married men’s race. —Mr E. Clark 1, Mr E. Bint, and Mr G. Scott, dead heat, 2. Men’s high jump.—B. Clark 1, W. Green 2. Girls three-legged, race.—S. Green

Maunder, H. Baker, B. Clark, G. Scott. At the conclusion of the day a hearty vote of thanks was extended to Mr and Mrs H. Baker for the use of their paddock and for providing, afternoon tea. Mrs Reg. Baker presented l each little toddler with a bag of sweets.
