Cubs at Waitakaruru The Waitakaruru Cubs have started their new season under the direction of Miss 'McKenny. There is still a great need for a scout master to look after the interests of the older boys. Mrs Bates is anxious to re-form this worthwhile movement, which has had to lapse for some time. Thames Butchers Closed Saturday A decision to close shops on Saturday mornings, beginning from April 1, has been made at a meeting of the Master Butchers’ Association of Thames. Butchers’ shops in Thames as from March 31 will thus close at 9 p.m. on Fridays for the week, because of circumstances brought about by meat rationing.
