LAID TO REST

MR FREDERICK NGAPO CHURCH AND THE GRAVESIDE The funeral of the late Mr Frederick Ngapo took place at Buffalo Cemetery on Tuesday, August 31. A short service conducted by the Rev. E. T. Leef, was held in the Anglican Church, a large gathering of friends and relatives being present, testifying to the respect in which Mr Ngapo was held in the community. A guard of honour, of members of the W.W.S.A. and the Home Guard was formed outside the church, members of Lt. Ngapo’s own platoon being the ipall bearers. The coffin was draped with the N.Z. ensign and there was a large number of beautiful wreaths.

A short service in the Maori language was held at the graveside and the “Last 'Post” was sounded by Bandsman Ron Davies.
