SEPTEMBER DANCE

PATRIOTIC FUNDS AIDED FUNCTION AT NGATEA » VERY SUCCESSFUL EVENING Patriotic funds in Ngatea, benefitted considerably from the September dance, which was held in the Ngatea Hall on Thursday night, and patronised by a huge crowd of dancing enthusiasts. The music provided by Neddo’s Swing 'Kings from Auckland, featuring the latest numbers in modern dance tempo, and a medley of old-time favourites, was an added attraction. Visitors were present from all outlying districts and the Patriotic Social Committee will be congratulated upon the improvement of the floor conditions. ■Supper arrangements were smoothly carried out.

Mr and Mrs H. Cook were the winners of a Monte Carlo waltz competition and Mr E. R. Sherlock acted as M.C.

Two yodelling items by a member of the band were first-class and gained the hearty appreciation of all present, encores being demanded'. Among those who attended were:— Mesdames E. R. Sherlock, S.
