SERVICE WEDDING
CEREMONY AT PAEROA WILKINS—-SCHULER BRIDE IN IVORY SATIN GOWN A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Paeroa, on Saturday, August 21, when -Grace Irene, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Schuler, Thames' road, Paeroa, was married to Charles Trevor (2nd. N.Z.E.F. on furlough) youngest son of Mr P. R. Wilkins and the late Mrs Wilkins of Auckland.
The church had been beautifully decorated with spring flowers by the staff of the National Service Department of which the bride is a member.. Rev. J. R. Nelson officiated and Mrs Nelson was organist.
The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, wearing' a long trained gown of ivory neura satin cut on classical lines with a Peter Pan collar. The veil of tulle embossed in satin was mounted on a halo of orange blossoms falling in graceful folds to form a second train. The bride carried a beautiful shower bouquet of cream trumpet daffodils fringed with asparagus fern.
The bride was attended by Pte. Shirley Cleaver, W.A.A.C., of Trenthan, who wore a picture frock of delphinium blue georgette over taffeta and wore a headdress of pink stock with blue ribbon streamers down the back. She carried a bouquet of pink stock and asparagus fern. Corporal Eric Marvin '(2nd. N.Z.E.F. on furlough), attended the bridegroom as best man.
At the reception held in the Parish Hall the guests were received by Mrs Schuler assisted by Mrs Lipscombe, the bridegroom’s sister, the former wearing a model frock of French grey crepe with hat to match and carried a posy of red stock and maidenhair fern.
Mrs Lipscombe wore a model frock of dusky pink crepe with brown accessories and carried a posy of violets and daphne. When the happy couple left later for a tour of the South Island the bride was wearing a model frock of teal blue romaine with black accessories and wore a fur stole with a shoulder spray of red flowers.
