INCIDENT IN WAIHOU RIVER VESSEL DELAYED THREE DAYS While proceeding on her way from Auckland to Paeroa, the N.S.S. Company’s auxiliary steamer, Ranganui, ran on a sand-bank in the Waihou river, just above the Puriri wharf, on Tuesday. Endeavours on Wednesday failed to re-float the steamer, so on Wednesday and Thursday morning a large quantity of cargo was removed to a large barge, and the .vessel was refloated on the Thursday afternoon tide, reaching the Puke wharf on Thursday evening.
