SOLDIER’S THANKS

PARCEL FROM PAEROA LETTER TO MR & MRS VINCENT Appreciation of a parcel which he received from the Paeroa District Patriotic Committee is expressed by Pte. H. Peel, at present serving in the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Middle East, in the following letter to Mr and Mrs D. Vincent, of Junction road, Paeroa. Pte. Peel writes as under:— “I wish to thank you for the parcel I received from you through the Paeroa District Patriotic Committee and to assure you it was very much appreciated. It arrived in perfect condition and contained some very useful things which are unprocurable here in Egypt.

“ All the boys in this part of the world are doing a great job but I must say that you and all the people connected with the patriotic committees' in New Zealand are doing very good work in sending over these parcels to us. My wife, who is looking after my grocery business, often sends me parcels and I tell her how much I look forward to their coming. “ I am afraid I do not know Paeroa district at all. My address is Rata street, Inglewood, Taranaki. “In closing this short note I wish to thank you again and hope that we will all return to our wives and families before very long.”
