GREY AND MENZIES
ANNUAL MEETING OF COMPANY DIVIDEND OF 7 # DECLARED J — —• I The difficulty in obtaining raw materials was emphasised at Wednesday’s annual meeting of Grey and Menzies, Limited, by Mr T. H. Barstow, deputy-chairman. He said sales had been restricted on account of sugar rationing, but increased supplies to the armed forces had helped to maintain a satisfactory turnover. Taxation had taken 14s Id from each £1 of profit. Reference was made to the illness of the chairman, Mr T. B. Clay, and satisfaction was expressed that his health was improving. The proposal for an unchanged dividend of 7 per cent, on ordinary and preference shares was agreed to and the retiring directors, Mtessrs W. Eddowes and A. G. Menzies, were reelected.
