HEAVY FROSTS ON PLAINS INSPECTION FOR WASTAGE WATER' SUPERVISOR’S REPORT — r . Recent heavy frosts have split a. number of water pipes on the Hauraki Plains, reported the water works supervisor, Mr J. Bradford, at the August meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. The supervisor’s report read as under: — East Water Supply “Over the supply the only repair work that was carried out consisted of three service connections, split with the heavy frosts and two small leaks on one of the concrete mains, these were repaired without the use of coupling joints. West Water Supply “Frost caused the breakage of three inch stop-cocks and five service connections. No blow-outs occurred on any of the mains. “A new tank stand and pipe fittings were installed at one of the county houses. “An inspection foi’ wastage is being carried out over both supplies.”
