‘TRAIL OF THE VIGILANTES’ PROGRAMME AT REGENT “LUCKY DEVILS” TO SHOW ALSO The season’s most versatile screen role goes to Mischa Auer in Universal’s new frontier epic, “Trail Of The Vigilantes,” coming Thursday and Friday to the Regent theatre. Featured with a cast that includes such screen notables at Franchot Tone, Warren William, Broderick Crawford, Andy Devine, Porter Hall and Peggy Moran, Auei’ plays six different characters all rolled into one. First seen as a medicine show Indian, Auer next appears in the costume of a South American gaucho, a Russian cossack, ‘ a Southern. colonel, a Mexican bullfighter and finally in an exaggerated Western cowboy outfit. While Mischa has seldom appeared in. Western pictures, he is one of the best horsemen in Hollywood. He owns his own five-gaited saddle horse and takes a brisk canter each morning. In fact, a feature of the new home Auer recently 'built is an exercise track that completely surrounds the property.

Portraying the roles of daredevil newsreel cameramen, Richard Arlen and Andy Devine come to the Regent Theatre also on Thursday and Friday in their newest co-starring film, “Lucky Devils.”

Described' as a rollicking comedy drama, the Universal production involves Dick and Andy in a series of both perilous and humorous adventures. A wild, hilarious climax in which the two stars overpower foreign saboteurs with the aid of model airplanes is said to highlight the film.
