REHABILITATION
COMMITTEE AT WAIHI APPOINTMENTS APPROVED POSTMASTER AS SECRETARY Mr J. Thorn, M.P., for Thames, has received advice that the Rehabilitation Board has approved of the appointment of the following as the Waihi Rehabilitation Committee: Local authorities’ representative.— Mr W. M. Wallnutt, Mayor. Returned Services’ Association representative. —Mr E. H. McCaithny. Organised labour representative. Mr A. Ritchie.
Business or farming representative —The Rev. R. Day.
W.W.S.A. representative. —Mrs A H. Blackmore.
Mr Thorn will be a member of the committee ex-officio, and it is advised by the board that the postmaster at Waihi, Mr V. G. Grinlinton, will act as secretary.
MORRINSVILLE COMMITTEE i PERSONNEL ANNOUNCED The Morrinsville postmaster, Mr J. B. Davis, has been appointed Government representative on, and secretaiy of, the Morrinsville Rehabilitation Committee. Advice of the personnel of the Morrinsville Committee has been received by Mr Davis. The committee will be constituted as follows:— Member of Parliament (ex officio). —Mr A. S. Sutherland. Local bodies.—Mr W. Hetherington. Returned Services Association. Mr A. Topham. Farmers’ Union. —Mr C. Cates. Organised labour. —Mr S. Bloomfield. Women’s War Service Auxiliary.— Mrs M. Lithgow was appointed ‘but is leaving the district. ■Government representative and secretary.—Mr J. B. Davis. It is expected that the first meeting of the committee will be held shortly, when a chairman will be elected. According to advice .received by Mr Davis it is not expected that the committee will meet more than once a month. The committee will receive advice from the Rehabilitation Officer at Hamilton, Mr C. F. Allan, and it is expected that the files of the men will be held in Hamilton. W.W.S.A. Nominee The former chairwoman of the Morrinsville Women’s War Service Auxiliary, Mrs M. Lithgow, is leaving the district and has had to resign her position. Mrs Lithgow was the W.W.S.A. nominee for appointment to the Morrinsville Rehabilitation Committee. Mrs P. M. Hobson has’ been appointed the new chairwoman of the Auxiliary, and she has also been nominated to fill the vacancy on the Rehabilitation Committee caused by Mrs Lithgow’s departure.
