Coromandel Fire Brigade At the Coromandel County Council meeting on Wednesday last it was proposed by Cr. T. E. Simpson and seconded by Cr. E. M. Minifie, “That a policy of insurance he taken ■ out to cover volunteer firemen.” Appointment of Assessor There being only one nomination for the position of county assessor, Mr A. J. Goudie was duly appointed at the August meeting of the Coromandel County Council for a term of three years. Grant To Fire Brigade ■ At the August meeting of. the Coromandel County Council it was proposed by the chairman, Mr C. C. Rae and seconded by Mr C. S. A. Geard, that a grant of £l5 be made to the Coromandel Volunteer Fire Brigade on the same coditions as previously. County Meeting The August meeting of the Coromandel County Souncil was held in Coromandel on Wednesday, August 11, the chairman, Mr C. C.Rae, presiding. Others present were Crs. A. Watkins, J. G. Strongman, H. C. Bull, E. M. Minifie, C. S. A. Geard, A. 1 J. Denize, T. E. Simpson and J. E. Jackson. The engineer, Mr A. H. Benham and the clerk, Mr J. H. Lucas, were also in attendance.
