£2244 STILL NEEDED
PLAINS PATRIOTIC QUOTA LETTER FROM ZONE CHAIRMAN The chairman of the Thames (Zone H) Patriotic Committee, Mr S. Ensor, wrote to the August meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council, drawing attention to the fact that there was still a balance of £2244 3s 3d required to complete the quota which it was expected the Plains would raise. Mr Ensor stated that he was a little perturbed lest the Thames Zone should fail to reach its quota, and he asked that some consideration be given to the question of increasing the Plains Inter-zone, activities in fundraising. He fully appreciated the difficulties with which the county -mas have to contend, but he asked for the county’s co-operation. The chairman, Mr C. W. Parfitt, stated that he intended to contact the various committees on the Plains and see what could be done in the matter. He had an idea some of the committees bad funds in hand.
