LARGE YARDING
DAIRIES AT MORRINSVILLE BREEDING SOWS NOT WANTED The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report that at their weekly stock sale held at Morrinsville on Friday there was a medium yarding of fat sheep comprising mostly fat lambs. Competition was good and prices were on a par with recent sales. A small yarding of breeding ewes, values being slightly in advance of last week.
A good yarding of beef was in keen demand and sold freely at full late rates. Boner cows were also in full supply with values unchanged. A good offering of yearling Jersey heifers showed an improvement while 2year empty heifers sold on a par with recent sales.
An exceptionally large yarding of dairy cattle came forward, including the advertised herd from Ohura, and attracted a full bench of buyers. Competition for good quality cattle was steady throughout, and prices were in advance of those ruling at the previous sale.
A large yarding of all classes of nigs came forward. Baconers and porkers remained firm while store pigs were also in demand, but breeding sows were not so keenly sought after. Quotations: —
