GIRLS’ CLUB
WAITAKARURU ORGANISATION j KEEN INTEREST BEING SHOWN I ! • Much interest has been aroused by j the recent formation of the Waitaka- ! ruru Girls’ Club for the young- girls .of the district. The club is supplying ! a much-needed recreational centre and it is the intention of the organisers ! to. stage concerts etc., and so help in any community work, thus training the girls for a larger part in later life. | The membership to date numbers 22 and the attendance at all meetings has been splendid, great enthusiasm being shown by the girls. Miss Kathleen Thomassen is secretary and Miss Cynthia Stewart treasurer. At present the girls are energetically practising songs and plays for a concert which they intend presenting in the very near future. J This is a worthy enterprise and deserves the sympathetic support of the district.
