NATIONAL PARTY

MEETING HELD IN COROMANDEL SEVERAL MATTERS DISCUSSED A meeting of the Coromandel branch of the National Party Committee was held in the Bowling Club Pavilion on Friday, August 6. Owing to the very wet night there was a smaller attendance than usual. The chairman, Mr S. Horne presided and brought forward several subjects which were discussed at length. He intimated that Mr W. Clark, the National candidate for Thames electorate, would address a public meeting in Coromandel this week. The question of taxation was well to the fore and some interesting facts were revealed. Rehabilitation was also a topic of conversation.

A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Horne for the capable manner in which he had conducted the meeting which had proved interesting and instructive. ,
