WIRING OF COWSHEDS
REGULATION REGARDING CABLE FARMERS VERY CONCERNED “That the position regarding cable for cowsheds be dealt with by the executive with the object of getting the Public Works Department regulations altered to allow alternative cable to be used,” was a remit moved by Waihi at the Northern Thames Sub-Provincial Executive of the NewZealand Farmers’ Union at a meeting held in Paeroa on Tuesday. Mrs A. H. Blackmore (Waihi), said that in the past a 7-cable flex had had to be used. This was not now available and yet the Public Works Department regulations demanded that 7cable flex be used. There was, - she added, an alternative and she suggested that the regulations be amended to permit the use of same. Mrs Blackmore also drew attention to the fact that inspectors were ordering houses to be re-wired and there was no flex available for this work. Mr A. J. Campbell (Waihi), seconded the remit which was carried.
