MEETING OF COMMITTEE MAORI CHILDREN’S HEALTH DONATION TO SCHOOL GARDEN The monthly meeting of the Paeroa District High School Committee was held in the Primary Department on Monday night, the chairman, Mr C. C. Webb presiding. Others present were Mrs S. Wheeler, Messrs H. Follas, R. L. Darley, J. Walmsley, W. Morrison, F. Thorp, the secretary, Mr S. Wheeler and the headmaster, Mr A. E. Day. The question of the health of the Maori children was discussed and members referred to the unsatisfactory conditions in which some Maori families were living in the borough. After considerable discussion in which cases which were considered unsatisfactory were quoted it was decided to write and bring the whole matter 'before the Paeroa Borough Council. It was mentioned' that some of the Maori children lacked means of amusement during the week-end and as a result some of them had been m trouble during recent weeks.
