Political Organiser On Plains Mr Herrold, organisei' for the New Zealand National Party in the Hauraki electorate has been touring through Turua, Kerepeehi and Netherton districts. Help for Beach Services Mr James Thoim, M.P. for Thames, has been informed by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, that he is prepared to subsidise up to £lOO any money collected by the public or voted by the Waihi Borough -Council for works which will protect the buildings at Waihi Beach used by the Surf and Life-saving Club and St. John Ambulance Association. Mr E. H. O’Meara Resigns The resignation of Mr E. H. O’Meara from the position of secretary was received by the Waikato 'Racing Club committee on Monday night, Mr O’Meara having indicated, that owing to continued ill-health he felt it necessary in the interests of the club to resign. Mr O’Meara has held the position of secretary to the club for the past 23 years. Farmers Meet The quarterly meeting of the Northern Thames Sub-'Provincial Executive of the New Zealand 'Farmer*’ Union was held in the Commercial Hotel, Paeroa, on Tuesday, the president, Mr S. E. Hall, presiding. Others present were Mesdames A. H. Blackmore (Waihi) and R. Strong , (Kerepeehi) and Messrs A. J. Campbell and A. H. Blackmore (Waihi), A. F. Thorp, H. C. Jackson (Paeroa), R. E. Tye, L. E. Tye i(Kerepeehi), W. H. -Cheale, W. Hayes (Netherton), R. Baker, H. H. Hicks (Turua), G. A. Avery and H. 'R. Morrison (Hikutaia), R. L. Wilson, E. Jamieson (Matatoki), G. D. Sexton (Kaihe're) and the secretary, Mr A. T. Dow.
