Mr James Thorn, M.P., and Mrs Thorn will attend a dinner in honour of furloughed soldiers in Te Aroha on Tuesday evening. The many friends of Mr A. J. Young of Netherton, will be pleased to hear that he is making good progress after his operation, at a private hospital at Auckland. A motion of condolence with the relatives of Mr P. Grace, who had been a foundation member of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board, was carried at Tuesday’s meeting of that body. Mr Grace had represented the Ohinemuri County.
