12,755 CONSUMERS
WATER HEATERS CUT OFF FARMERS RESPOND TO APPEAL “The total number of consumers connected to the board’s mains is 12,755,” reported the manager, Mr R. Sprague, to Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames- Valley Electric Power Board. The report added: — 4 “ Three lighting and heating consumers were connected during the month, also one range that had been disconnected was re-connected. “There was quite a number of water-heaters disconnected on farms, in response to oui' request to save units- during the off-milking period. This state of affairs- will no doubt exist until the effect of metering the domestic and dairy water-heaters is functioning. Then essential additional load can be connected to the lines. “There are now connected and operating 3551. ranges, 6347 water-heat-ers, 962 industrial motors and 7255 motors on farms, of which 3478 are milking motors; Six consumers had additional lighting and heating connections made during the period.”
