WOMEN’S DIVISION

MEETING IN COROMANDEL FLOWER SHOW ARRANGEMENTS The monthly meeting of the Coromandel branch of the W.D.F.U., held in the Catholic Schoolroom on Saturday, July 24, Mrs Anderson presiding over a good attendance of members. A hearty welcome as the new secretary to the division was accorded. Mrs McNeil. It was proposed by Mrs McKenzie and seconded by Mrs Lucas that the division make the social and dance in honour of the Coromandel Silver Band an annual event. This was unanimously carried. A minute’s silence was observed in respect of the late Mr F. Shrimpton. It was resolved that the branch send delegates to the half-year provincial meeting at Paeroa on August 2. Arrangements in connection with the forthcoming flower show were discussed. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs W. Evans and Mrs Wilson.
