REHABILITATION

COMMITTEE AT PAEROA PERSONNEL ANNOUNCED MR W. MARSHALL AS CHAIRMAN Advice of the personnel of the Paeroa Rehabilitation Committee with Mr W. Marshall as chairman is contained in the following letter which Mr J. Thorn, M.P. for Thames has received from the Rehabilitation Board, Wellington. The letter reads as under:— “This is to follow up with you the question of the establishment of a local Rehabilitation Committee at Paeroa, a subject about which the’ board has already been in touch with you. I am pleased to advise that the board has now approved of the appointment of a committee constituted as follows: —

Local authorities representative. — Edwin Edwards, Mayor, Paeroa. Returned Services Association representative. —J. H. Walmsley, Paeroa.

Farmer or business interests. —Mr H. C. Jackson, Tirohia. Organised labour representative. Mr E. J. Wilton, C/o. Criterion Hotel, Paeroa.

W.W.S.A. representative.—Mrs J. R. Reid, Netherton. Mr Thorn a Member

“In addition you will of course as member for the district be a member of the committee ex officio. Mr W. Marshall will be chairman of the committee by virtue of his position as member of the Rehabilitation Council.

“For your information, I would advise that Mr T. Owen, Rehabilitation Officer, will act as secretary of the committee. He will 'be instructed formally to get into touch with a view to fixing a suitable time and place for the first meeting of the committee. It is desired, of course, that the committee meet as soon as possible, and the board would be pleased if you could attend the first meeting.

“ I would like to thank you for the assistance given by you in securing and forwarding nominations of members of the committee and might I express the hope that the Paeroa committee will prove an active and in every way successful organisation in the field of local rehabilitation.
