VERY KEEN DEMAND
morrinsville stock sale BREEDING SOWS SOUGHT The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report that at their weekly stock sale held at Morrinsville on Friday, a small yarding of fat sheep came forward. Competition was good and prices were on a par with late rates. A good yarding of breeding ewes from Tokomaru Bay was penned. They were a good line, in good condition and well forward in lamb. Competition 1 was fair for the older ewes, but younger ewes were again dull of sale, many pens changing hands at cheap rates. A good yarding of store cattle, comprising good conditioned young cow's from Hawke’s Bay. Competition for steers was good' while cows were slower of sale. A medium entry of fat cows met a ready sale, at firm rates. Boner cows were yarded in average numbers and also sold at full late rates.' A smaller yarding of dairy cattle comprising mostly heifers came forward. Competition was steady throughout and recent quotations were maintained. Good quality cows, close to profit sold readily at improved rates.
A medium yarding of fat pigs and a full entry of stores and weanei’s came forward, also the advertised entry of breeding sows. Competition for all classes was very keen, prices being fully up to last week’s quotations-.
