WOMEN’S DIVISION
MEETING HELD AT TIBOHIA
SEA-BOOT STOCKINGS MADE The July meeting of the Tirohia branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held at the home of Mrs W. Noble, Mrs Wild, the president, presiding over a fair attendance. It was reported that since last meeting the branch very successfully ran a progressive 500 card evening, and was able to hand over £5 to the secretary of the Tirohia Soldiers’ Welfare League. v During the afternoon a parcel containing six pairs of sea-boot stockings knitted by members was - packed and sent to the merchant seamen.
Afternoon tea was then served and a pleasant social hour enjoyed by those present before the meeting closed.
The next meeting is to be held at the residence of Mrs W. Murray.
Competition results were as under: Shortbread.—Mrs Murray 1, Mrs Noble 2.
Best bloom.—Mrs Noble 1, Mrs Atchison 2.
