LARGE YARDING
CATTLE SALE HELD AT PAEROA SHARP RISE IN BEEF PRICES The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report a very large yarding of all classes of dairy and cull cows at their fortnightly sale conducted at Paeroa on Monday. Beef cattle were again in- short supply the consequence of which values again took a sharp rise. Good quality dairy heifers, close to profit, made from £lO to £l3; medium quality, £8 to £9 15s; backward and inferior, £6 to £7 10s; choice dairy cows, close to profit, £9 5s to £lO ss; medium quality, £7 10s to £8 15s; backward and inferior, £4 15s to £6 ss. Prime beef cows and heifers, £9 10s to £lO 15s; medium quality, £8 5s to £9 ss; lighter, £7 to £8; unfinished, £4 to £5 ss; heavy boners, £3 15s to £4 ss; medium, £3 5s to £3 15s; lighter, £2 15s to £3 ss; thin, £1 10s to £2 ss; yearling heifers, £2 to £3 ss; empty 2-year-old .heifers, £2 10s to £3 10s; prime wethers, to 28s 6d; hulls sold- according to weight from £4 to £7.
