COURTEOUS HEARING
TOUR BY MR D. A. HILL CAMPAIGN IN TAURANGA-' Taking advantage of his week’s furlough from camp, Pte. D. A. Hill, official Labour candidate for the Tauranga seat, has just completed a preliminary campaign tour of his electorate. He addressed meetings at Tauranga, Te Puke, Edgecumbe, Kati Kati Tauriko and Pongakawa Valley. There was a good attendance at all meetings, in spite of bad weather and the candidate soon showed that he has a good gift of oratory, as well as a sound knowledge of the policy and' plans fit the Government. Farming audiences found that they were listening to a practical farmer with profound knowledge and understanding of their problems. Mr Hill was given a courteous hearing on every occasion and the interest of those present was displayed in the questions asked at the end of each meeting. All were answered to the satisfaction of those concerned. Mr Hill hopes shortly to be granted temporary release from camp to contest the election.
