HAURAKI SEAT
LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATE LT.-COL, E. C. N. ROBINSON RESIDENT OF MORRINSVILLE It has. been announced that Lieut.Col. E. C. N. Robinson, has been selected to contest the Hauraki electorate as the official condidate for the New Zealand Labour Party. Lieut.-Col. Robinson is a farmer and has resided in the Morrinsville district for the past 24 years. He is past president of the Returned Services Association and is a member of the executive. He served with the New Zealand Rifle Brigade in the war of 1914-18 and was mentioned in despatches. On the outbreak of the present war he volunteered for service and sailed with the Second Echelon in May, 1940. Owing to an unexpected disability he was returned from Australia medically unfit. Soon after his return he was appointed grdup director of No. 2 Group, Home Guard. He has always been a keen worker for the district generally and for returned soldiers particularly and has a good grasp of the problems of the man on the land.
