FAREWELL PARTY

MISS RAE LANDMAN HONOURED MR & MRS THOMAS ENTERTAIN , Miss Rae Landman, one of the most popular girls of Paeroa’s younger set, who has been transferred to Whangarei, was of honour at a party held at the residence of Mr and Mrs 'Malcolm Thomas, Thames road, last Saturday evening. ' Miss Landman wore a becoming frock of “love-in-a-mist” blue satinbacked crepe, while Mrs Thomas was attired in black marocain. The lounge and dining room were tastefully decorated with large bowls of daffodils, irises and camelias. Mrs M. Thomas and her daughter Maurine acted as hostesses to about 25 guests who spent a jolly evening with music, games and competitions. A novel com petition took the form of film charades and was thoroughly enjoyed. During the evening Miss Maurine Thomas called upon Miss Landman to

accept a beautiful plaque as a remembrance of their happy associations and expressed regret at her departure. Musical honurs were accorded Miss Landman who then thanked both her hostesses for the very happy evening and those present for their kindness. Mr and Mrs L. V. Landman endorsed their daughter’s remarks and personally offered their thanks. Opportunity was taken to bid farewell to Malcolm, son of Mr and Mrs Thomas, who is to enter the Air Force in New Zealand. A delicious supper was served after which the party continued to a late hour. - i
