TRIBUTE PAID

LATE MRS P. E. BRENAN FORMER MAYORESS OF PAEROA A tribute to the work done by the late Mrs P. E. Brenan during the term in which she was Mayoress of Paeroa was paid by the Mayor, Mr Edwin Edwards, at Thursday night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council in referring to her recent death and expressing the council’s sympathy with her husband and son in their loss. The late Mrs Brenan said Mr Edwards had been a Paeroa-born girl well-known and well liked in the town. For a period she had filled the position of librarian at the Paeroa Public Library and later as Mavoress had fulfilled her duties very ably indeed. All regretted the passing of so fine a character.

The acting town clerk was instructed to convey the council’s sympathy to the relatives, the crunc’l standing in silence as a mark cf respect. .
