SERGEANT R. D. WALLACE KILLED ON ACTIVE SERVICE ■Sgt. Rex Donald Wallace who was reported killed on active service m a recent casualty list issued by the Royal New Zealand Air Force, is the husband of Mrs F. G. Wallace, of Coromandel. * Born in Pukekohe 26 years ago Sgt. Wallace was educated at the Matamata District High School, later taking up farming in the Walton district prior to joining the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Sgt. Wallace was a/ very popular and keen footballer, being captain of the Walton Football Club. He- was also a . tennis enthusiast and was captain of the Richmond Downs Tennis Club. Sgt. Wallace received: his training as an air gunner in the Airforce in Canada. He is survived- -by his wife and! one son.
