COROMANDEL COMMITTEE £67/13/- RAISED IN MONTH A meeting of the Coromandel Fist?, riotic Sub-Committee was held in the County Chambers, Coromandel, on Friday, June 11. The chairwoman, Mrs Lynne, presided. The secretary reported that £22 7s 6d had been paid in as a result of the direct donations to the collectors appointed in the various sections of the town. The amount for one section had yet to be paid in. It was reported that the amount of £67 13s Od was the total collected for the month’s working and it was considered a ‘satisfactory start towards the amount that Coromandel has to find for the 1943 All-Purposes Appeal. It was decided to hold another dance early in July and a Paddy’s Market later in the month. Promises of eggs and sugar were received, also offers to bake. It was hoped that the public would combine with the committee and make these functions bumper successes.
