77TH. BIRTHDAY
MRS A. M. SEYMOUR OF PAEROA 30 YEARS AS DISTRICT NURSE On Saturday Mrs A. M. Seymour of Willoughby street, Paeroa, will celebrate her 77th. birthday. Bom at Opotiki in 1866 Mrs Seymour is the daughter of the late of Sgt. and Mrs J. D. Bentley of the First Waikatos. Sgt. Bentley saw service in New Zealand under Col. Harrington. The late Mrs Bentley name out to New Zealand in. the German ship “Lord Wilhemina Bentike” which arrived in Auckland on September 25, 1850. Mrs Seymour’s husband, the late Mr George Seymour and three of her sons, Reg. (Paeroa), George (Patea), and Ted (Morrinsville) also saw service in the Great War her husband being awarded the Meritorius Service Medal. In this war Mrs Seymour has her youngest son Charlie serving in the Navy while six of her grandchildren are serving in the Army, Navy, and Airforce. Mrs Seymour ia very proud of the fact that ahe is an honorary member
of the Thames Returned Services Association. For over 30 years Mrs Seymour was district nurse working in the Karangahake and Paeroa district, doing much good work 'among the earlier settlers of the district.
