WEDDING BELLS
WALTERS—LOADER BRIDE IN GOWN OF WHITE LACE A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Holy Trinity Church of England, Waiuku, on Saturday,, June 19, when Gwenda Kathleen, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Loader, of Turua, was married to Laurie E. Walters, youngest son of Mr and Mrs R. Walters, of Waiuku. The bride who was given away by her father, looked charming in a model gown of white lace with heart-shaped neckline. Her long tulle veil, forming a train, was held in place by a topknot of orange blossom and was draped ‘over the face on entering the church. Her shower bouquet was of white roses and stock. Miss L. Hull, niece of the bridegroom and Miss A. fright attended the bride as bridesmaids, both wearing graceful frocks of maize waterwaved taffeta and mauve shoulderlength tulle veils held in place with a topknot of flowers. Both carried pretty posies in maize and mauve tonings. Little Joan Blackburn, niece of the bride looked sweet in full-length frock of mauve taffeta, her headdress was a ■band of mauve covered with tiny flowers and she also carried a posy. Mr H. Walters acted as best man and Mr C. Nowlands of Hamilton as groomsman. The wedding march was played by Mrs James, aunt of the bride. The reception was afterwards held in the Oddfellows’ Hall and over 50 guests sat down to a delicious breakfast. Mrs Loader received the guests wearing a frock of lavender and wine hat and fur stole, and carried a posy of autumn tints. Mrs A. Walters, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a smart navy costume and hat, navy accessories and carried an autumn shaded posy. Many telegrams were received and read at the breakfast. A dance was afterwards held in the Oddfellows’ Hall where many relations and friends enjoyed a happy evening. In the course of the evening songs were rendered by Miss Allcock . After supper the happy couple left amidst showers of confetti and good wishes. The bride travelled in a teal frock, with hat and accessories of tan and a flecked coat.
