THRILL FOR NG ATE A GIRL MISS A. BABICH’S HONOUR While waiting to visit her brother, Gunner Tony Babich, who is an inmate of the Military Annex, Auckland, Miss Anne Babich of Ngatea, enjoyed the very great thrill of meeting Lt.Gen. Sir Bernard C. Freyberg, V.C. Miss Babich was standing in the vestibule awaiting admittance, when Lt.-Gen. Freyberg and his official party arrived to visit the sick and wounded New Zealanders. After enquiring whether Miss Babich was a relation or friend, the "General shook hands and said he hoped her brother would soon be well again. Gunner Babich is suffering from a double fracture of the ankle.
