TO CONTEST SEAT
TAURANGA ELECTORATE MR D. HILL OF PAEROA LABOUR PARTY’S CANDIDATE Mr Dudley Hill,, of Paeroa, will contest the Tauranga seat in the interests of Labour in the forthcoming elections, states the Bay of Plenty Beacon. Mr Hill. was born in Auckland in 1903, being the son of a pioneer Thames Valley farmer and he represents the fourth generation of New Zealanders.' With the exception of a short period spent in the sugar cane and farming industries in Queensland, Mr Hill has spent the whole of his life in this country. , After returning from Australia Mr Hill entered the service of the Lands and Survey Department after which he took up practical farming in the Thames Valley district. •her of years he has been a prominent member of the Labour Party having served for 13 years as president of the Kerepeehi branch and later vicepresident of the Kerepeehi branch and later vice-president of the Thames Labour Representative Committee and chairman of the Hauraki L.R.C, 'Mr Hill’s other activities include service as chairman of the Kerepeehi School Committee, president of the Kerepeehi Farmers’ Union and since 1935 to the present time has been a member of the South A.uckland Land .Board. He is a practical and successful farmer and his experience on the Land Board has enabled him to render invaluable assistance to his fellow farmers; He is a married man with a family of three young children and is at present with the armed forces for service overseas.
