VERCOE’S BALE HELD MONDAY
Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Co., Ltd., held their fortnightly stock sale on Monday, when a good yarding came forward and sold.slightly better than last sale, best quality beef, being in good demand. Quotations: — S.H. fat cows, good quality, £7 7s to £9 7s 6d; lighter cows, £5 5s to £6 ss; heavy boners, £4 2s to £4 18s; plain and light, £2 12s 6d to £3 7s 6d; 2-year empty heifers, £3 7s. 'Good Jersey-cross heifers, forward in-calf, £8 15s to £9 10s; Jersey-Ayr-shire cross heifers in-calf heifers, £7 to £8 ss; weaner heifers, £2 7s 6d. Fat ewes, prime, 22s 6d; fat hoggets, 225; forward store hoggets, 15s to 16s 3d; ewe hoggets, 19s.
