DANCE AT WHITIANGA
PATRIOTIC FUNDS ASSISTED AN ENJOYABLE EVENING A small but happy group of people found dancing enjoyable in ( the Whitianga Public Hall on Monday evening, June 7, when a patriotic dance was held to conclude the week-end holiday. Mr J. Vause proved a capable M.C., and kept dances to a schedule with much variety. Mrs Rose supplied splendid music on her piano accordion and was appreciated by the dancers. Mrs Matheson and Mr A. Lee gave several extras, in combination on the piano and cornet, and these also were received by an appreciative dancing audience. Mrs C. Lowe partnered by Mr I. Lowe were the winners of the first Monte Carlo waltz, the second winners being Mrs Prestage partnered by Mr T. H. Towsey. Supper was served and proved an enjoyable respite for dancers who partook of the variety ■of dishes supplied by the ladies.
