CAMP AT LONG BAY
PHYSICAL WELFARE PROPOSAL LETTER FROM THE MINISTER The Minister of Internal Affairs wrote to the June meeting of the Coromandel County Council expressing regret that it had not been possible as yet to investigate the possibility of establishing a Physical Welfare Camp at Long Bay Park, Coromandel. The Minister wrote as under:— “I regret it has not been practicable for me, up to the present, to go as deeply as I should have liked into the council’s recommendation for the establishment of a physical welfare camp in Long Bay Park. The natural setting of this park and its beautiful surroundings have, in my view, everything to commend the proposal. I hope, as soon as times become better, to have a complete investigation made and reports furnished for the consideration of the Government.”
