SERPENTINE SUPER
COMPLAINTS FROM FARMERS REQUEST TO THE DEPARTMENT At the June meeting of the Thames District Council of Primary Production members stated they had received complaints from many farmers as to the quality of serpentine super being received by them, these complaints 'bing mainly based on the coarseness of the serpentine rock mixed in the super. “The chairman, Mr S. E. Hall, explained that from information he had received this appeared to be due to the original lack of fine screens in the crushing of the rock which he understood was now being overcome. It was resolved that the DirectorGeneral of - Agriculture be ‘ written to that it is the Opinion of the members of the council that the fullest benefits of serpentine super are not being obtained owing to the coarseness of the Serpentine rock which should be very finely ground and request that the regulations as to fineness be strictly enforced and that the same ‘ - remarks applied as to the of .agricultural lime.
