OBITUARY
MISS MARY ELLEN RENSHAW. FORMER RESIDENT OF PAEROA The death occurred at Thames or Monday of Miss Mary Ellen Renshaw; of the firm of James Renshaw, ironmongers. She was the daughter ol Mr James Renshaw, one of the firsl men to establish a business in Thamej and at one time Mayor of the town An elder sister was the first whitx child born in Thames. Miss Renshaw led an active life ii] to the onset of last illness a fev weeks ago. For some years in earl] life she was a school teacher a Thames and Paeroa, and in late years she assisted with evening classes at the Thames Technic# School. Many of her old pupils re member her with affection. She was a loyal and active mens ber of the Baptist Church, bem. treasurer, a member of the choir an a teacher in the Sunday School. A the time she became ill she was eii gaged in training scholars for th annual scripture examination, a wor wnich she has done for many yea| with marked success. She was treas urer of the Thames Ladies’ Benevt) lent Society. •_ , u:| She is survived by a sister, Mrs ! Driver, of Auckland, and two broil ers, Messrs E. J. and W. H. Rcnshai ex Ihamcs. . - few
