TRIBUTES PAID
SUPREME SACRIFICE MADE SERVICEMEN FROM PAEROA . Tributes tb two Paeroa, boys, one who has been reported killed in action and the other who has been reported missing presumed killed, Pte. H. Dowdell and Sgt. A. Cridge, was paid by the Mayor, Mi’ Edwin at Thursday night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council. ■ The loss each month of local boys brings home the seriousness of the war and the fact that .our boys are in the front line in the conflict, said the Mayor. Both the boys referred to to-night are well-known men of Paeroa — lads who were full of promise. On behalf of the people of Paeroa he expressed sympathy to the relatives, the meeting standing in silence as a mark of respect. The a‘cting-town clerk, Mr A. A. Jenkinson, was instructed to write tc the relatives conveying the council’s sympathy.
