THREE BLOW-OUTS
PLAINS WATER SUPPLY SHUT-OFF DURING MONTH REPAIRS ON THREE OF MAINS “Blow-outs were repaired on three of the mains during the month, two on Orchard East road, one at Orongo and one on the Turua Netherton highway. Netherton end of the supply was shut off for one day during the repair of the 9in. main, reported the water works supervisor, Mr J. Bradford, to Wednesday’s meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. “The bridge across Canoe Creek at Puriri has been completed. Some measuring-up was done with Mr Adams at the bottom of Huirau road. “Two valves had to be boxed-in on the corner of Piako road on account of the new culvert extension. “In the West Water Supply the lOin. main at Waitakaruru. next to the factory had to be repaired, an M type coupling joint was used for repairs. “Rubbish and growth around the pump house, Pipiroa, has been cleared. Minor service connection repairs were carried out over both supplies.” "
